Instructional Coaching Workshops

Instructional Coaching workshops, facilitated by Jim Knight or a Corwin-certified consultant, will provide a foundation for the instructional coaching program. Participants will walk away with techniques and materials that can be used right away.

Focus Areas

Instructional Coaching workshops can be completed in one day, two days, or three days. A one-day workshop primarily focuses on the Coaching Cycle and Partnering Fundamentals—Working with Adults. The two-day workshop includes more on both: analyzing more video exemplars and grounding learning with more time to practice. A three-day workshop includes both focus areas with special attention on Communication.

Workshop attendees participating in the following focus areas will:

Partnering Fundamentals—Working with Adults

  • Master the complexities of helping adults
  • Learn partnership principles for building healthy coaching relationships

Coaching Cycle

  • Implement the coaching cycle
  • Learn how to set goals, explain teaching practices, gather data, and monitor progress toward goals

Communication

  • Build trust with collaborating teachers
